Our client, a Multinational Oil and Gas Company, set us a brief to repurpose a tired and underutilised building to house a new corporate conferencing centre and welcome hub to their global technology research centre near Reading.
Crown d+b interpreted a concept produced by LOM the client’s Brand Ambassador Architects and developed the scheme through the RIBA stages 1-4, including co-ordination of the client’s own specialist contractors.
The requirements, in terms of energy saving initiatives, were to remove all fossil fuel services and replace with heat pumps and heat recovery systems controlled by occupancy sensors.
Extensive bespoke joinery included a colour changing, strobe lit entrance tunnel, bleacher seating and integration of an 11m wide presentation screen. Preset scene setting lighting, automated blinds and curtains create a fully immersive experience.
A truly world class event space has delighted the client and exceeded the brief on many levels.
